10.the grand expectation of all the wondrous adventures that would await me once I'd become a mother.

Well as some of y'all know our old camera died on us back on 12/24/06. It was a lovely Canon S1IS. We had purchased it all little over 2 years ago and it had given us great service over those 2+ years, but alas, all good things must come to an end. Especially when the kids liked to take pictures as well. It would end up with fingerprints where they are not supposed to be and it would get dropped, a lot. So it's no real surprise that it died. Fast forward to yesterday and the arrival of our tax refund, what's the first thing we do with the extra coin we now have. . . I had the oil changed in the car. Then we drove up to the Tri-cities and took Zoe and Zachary to Toy's R Us and they each got a new toy; Zoe picked out a My Little Pony and Zach chose this rubber dinosaur that is almost as tall as he is. We also picked Zander up a toy vacuum cleaner, he loves it by the way. Then we made our way over to Target. Here Zoe scored a new sweater and a new pair of shoes. Next stop was Red Lobster, then the coup d'etat we went to Best Buy and purchased ...

Nikon D40

... Our very own Nikon D40. We've had it for less than a day and we LOVE IT. I have already shot about 250 frames(most of said frames are of anything and everything around the house just play & learning) and I have no doubt we made the right choice. So stay tuned for what I'm sure will be a plethora great shots over the years. And yes the kids will not be allowed to use this camera, we also bought an inexpensive point and shoot for Zoe and the boys to use.

a lengthy reminder...a weight has been lifted...

After months upon months of procrastinating, I finally got 'just fed up enough'to whip out the scissors. Day after day of screeching, every time I brushed her hair, or worse yet, washed her hair. 15 minutes later...11 inches gone! We're going to see about donating her strands to "locks of love".

I love Zoe's hair this length! She looks so "trendy". And now she matches mommy. I was not able to donate my 10 inches of lopped off locks, because of the damage I inflicted upon my hair over the years! Oh well. Hopefully, Zoe can.

lock of love

She loves her new "do" and didn't even flinch when she watched me hack her ponytail off. My little baby girl is growing up!

Let me help!
Well, the pace has just picked up around here quite a bit. A friend of ours is adopting her niece and has just started back at work part time, so she has asked me to watch her 5 month old for her. It may turn out to just be temporary, but also has the possibility of working itself out as a regular thing. This week, I just have her from 10:45-2:45, today and Friday.

She is an absolute sweetheart! So good-natured. She only cried today when she got sleepy around nap time. Lets see...how are we going to do this? Baby's nap time is noon and Zander's nap time is 1:00. O boy! We have some scheduling conflicts to work through. Today, so far, has gone okay. She is down for her nap right now, and I figure, depending on how long she is down, as soon as she wakes up, Zander will go down for his nap. Having him temporarily out of commission will help alot once she is awake again.

Zander has recently decided he wants to potty-train. Oh, joy! Let's throw one more ball up in the air for mommy to juggle, why don't we? I'm actually quite pleased that he is showing interest so much earlier than his predecessor (Zach). I just don't know how I'm going to keep up with the constant spraying all over my carpets and the poopy diapers he likes to remove on his own and leave in an unknown location. I am unaware of all of this until he walks up to me stark naked and says, "I pee." or "I poo." You gotta love the determination!

So things are a little crazy (crazier) around here right now. But it keeps life exciting. If I don't look at it in that light, I just may sit down somewhere and bawl my eyes out.
